In his childhood, Baba Ji used to graze cows in the forests. By the infinite grace of the Almighty, his heart was so absorbed in divine love that he would sit under large trees and meditate for hours.

Part 4: Grazing the Cows

While the cows grazed freely in the forest, they would quietly return and sit near Baba Ji once their hunger was satisfied.

Part 5: Rigorous Penance

Baba Ji remained so absorbed in devotion that he would renounce food and water. Witnessing this, his parents became extremely worried about his well-being.

Part 6: Arrival of Sant Baba Jatidas Ji

At that time, a great saint named Baba Jatidas Ji was very renowned. Distraught by their son’s condition, the parents approached him and requested him to visit the boy. At their plea, Baba Jatidas Ji arrived at Dharamshala Mahantan.

Part 9: The Great Miracle

Baba Ji stirred the milk with his finger and miraculously extracted three whole grains of rice, placing them back onto Baba Jatidas Ji’s hand.

Part 10: The Union of Guru and Disciple

Stunned by this miracle, Baba Jatidas Ji immediately moved to touch Baba Nakodar Das Ji’s feet, exclaiming, “You are my Guru!”

Part 11: Baba Ji’s Humility

However, Nakodar Das Ji humbly stopped him, saying, “O Saint, you are the Guru. It is the Guru who tests the disciple.

Part 12: Success in the Test

“You came to test me, and I have succeeded in your trial. From this day forward, you are my Guru. I had not initiated anyone as my Guru until today; it is your great kindness that you have come to my home yourself.”

Baba Nakodar Das Ji formally accepted Baba Jatidas Ji as his Guru. In return, Baba Jatidas Ji blessed him and told his parents, “This is no ordinary soul.”
