Shri Baba Lakshmidhar Ji

The Life and Legacy of Shri Baba Lakshmidhar Ji

Baba Lakshmidhar Ji took charge of the Gaddi at the young age of thirteen. His father, Krishndev Ji, was himself a scholar of Hindi and Sanskrit. He had appointed learned teachers to the school and arranged for the lodging and meals of students who traveled from afar. Shri Lakshmidhar Ji was so gifted that he cleared two grades in a single year. By the age of seven, he completed the fourth grade, after which he was initiated (Diksha) by the great scholar Bhagwan Das Ji.

Under the tutelage of Shri Bhagwan Das—who was an expert in Grammar, Scriptures, and Literature—Lakshmidhar Ji studied like a true ascetic. His memory was so sharp that he never forgot anything he heard or read once. Along with Bhagwan Das Ji, Pulastya Ram Shastri Ji was also appointed to teach him. Consequently, he completed the six-year Pragya, Visharad, and Shastri courses in just four years with excellent marks. After completing his studies, he personally taught Sanskrit to many students.

To guide people influenced by the vices of Kalyug, he organized a Satsang every Sunday at the Dharamsal. He invited religious speakers, scholars, and saints for social reform and spiritual preaching. He himself delivered discourses, simplifying complex scriptural depths for the common man. These sessions lasted for years, benefiting thousands. A profound scholar, he was also blessed with Vak-Siddhi (the power of truthful speech), which he used solely for human welfare.
